Brown-red aphodia ^[2] ( Aphodius rufus ) is a species of plate beetles from the subfamily Afodin .

Imago 5–7 mm long ^[3] . The body is redder, shining. Antennae yellow. The grooves of the elytra are strongly deepened and almost always terminate freely, without connecting with each other. The elytral gaps in the back are convex ^[3] .
