Nikolai Vasilievich Novikov ( Ukrainian: Mikola Vasilovich Novikov ; April 10, 1932 , Kiev - April 7, 2017 , ibid.) - a scientist in the field of mechanics and materials science; in the field of calculations of mechanical vibrations in turbomachines; strength assessment and prediction of the destruction of technical equipment and space systems at ultralow cryogenic temperatures; in the technology of obtaining and studying the properties of diamond and diamond-like films, the synthesis of diamonds and other superhard materials; student and follower G. Biography
Born April 10, 1932 in Kiev .
He graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics of the Kiev Polytechnic Institute (modern name is the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kiev Polytechnic Institute” ) in 1954, received a degree in mechanical engineering in automotive tractor construction. In 1957, he graduated from the graduate school of the department " Resistance of Materials ".
He defended the dissertation of a candidate of technical sciences in 1958 and a doctor of technical sciences in 1975. In 1977 he received the title of professor in the specialty " Strength of Materials and Building Mechanics ". He was elected in 1979 as a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR in the specialty “ Materials Science , Metals Strength ”, and was elected an academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR in 1985 with a degree in Materials Science , Metals Technology.
