Biography
R. Matevosyan was born in 1941 in Yerevan . He graduated from the Sayat-Nova School of Music , also studied at the Faculty of Philology of Yerevan State University and at the same time at the Conservatory .
He worked in television since 1961, and also in the ensemble of folk instruments of the radio committee (since 1996 he was its leader).
Ruben Matevosyan performed folk songs and works of Armenian composers, including opera ones (Saro’s aria from the opera Anush).
He taught at the State Conservatory and at the College. Arno Babajanyan .
The documentary film "Who broke the record " is dedicated to the national artist. The art of R. Matevosyan was highly appreciated by such artists as Martiros Saryan , Aram Khachaturian , Dmitry Kabalevsky , Lyudmila Zykina .
