Biography

Engaged in biathlon since 1997. He represented the city of Sumy , played for the club "Kolos" and the team of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Trainers - Yu. V. Dmitrenko, M.I.Serdyuk.

Junior career

At the 2002 World Junior Championships in Val Ridanna, he competed among 19-year-old athletes and won the silver medal in the individual race, was 14th in the sprint, seventh in the pursuit and eighth in the relay. In the same year, at the European Junior Championships in Kontiolahti, among the 21-year-old athletes he became 13th in the sprint, seventh in the pursuit, sixth in the individual race and fourth in the relay.

In 2003, he won two medals at the Junior World Championships in Koscielisko - he won the silver medal in the pursuit and the bronze medal in the relay. At the European Championship among juniors in Forni Avoltri, the best result in personal appearances was 11th place.

In the 2003/04 season, he participated in the IBU Junior Cup races and took second places twice.

At the 2004 World Junior Championships in Haut-Morienne, he won the bronze medal in the individual race. At the European Junior Championship of the same year in Minsk, he took two medals - bronze in the individual race and silver in the relay.

At the 2005 European Junior Championships in Novosibirsk, he won four medals, including winning gold in the sprint, as well as silver in the pursuit and individual race and bronze in the relay. At the world junior championship in 2005 in Kontiolahti, he did not perform so well.

Adult Career

He made his World Cup debut in the 2005/06 season at the stage in Ostersund , taking 68th place in the sprint. After that he was sent to the IBU Cup , where he got into the top 20 several times, and at the stage in Windischgarsten he took ninth place in the sprint. At the end of the season he was again included in the team for the World Cup, but did not rise above 40th place.

In 2007, he took part in the Winter Universiade in Turin , won two silver medals - in the mass start and relay race, and in the remaining races he was fourth, fifth and ninth.

At the 2007 European Championships in Bansko, he became 40th in the sprint and 32nd in the pursuit. In the same 2007 at the summer world championships in Otepää he won silver in the mixed relay, was 15th in the sprint and eighth in the mass start.

In the 2007/08 season, at the World Cup in Pokljuka he took fourth place in the individual race, showing the best result in his career. It was the first time in the athlete’s career in the points zone at the World Cup stages and the only points scored in the 2007/08 season.

In the 2008/09 season, at the Hochfilzen stage he first climbed the podium of the World Cup relay race, taking third place in the Ukrainian team. At the 2009 European Championships in Ufa, he took fourth place three times - in the sprint, pursuit and relay race. At the 2009 Winter Universiade in Harbin, he won gold in the pursuit and silver in the sprint.

In 2010, at the European Championships in Otepää, he became the silver medalist in the individual race.

In the 2010/11 season, he repeated his best result at the World Cup stages, taking fourth place in the individual race at the stage in Pokljuka .

Last played at the World Cup in the 2011/12 season. The next season, he played only at the IBU Cup, and also became the silver medalist of the world championship in summer biathlon in the mixed relay, the Ukrainian team took second place among three participants.

Repeatedly became the champion and prize-winner of the championships of Ukraine. Including in the summer biathlon in 2012 he became the silver medalist in the sprint and the champion in the pursuit race [1] .

In 2013, he completed his sports career.
