Systematic position
The Rhabdodendraceae family has been recognized only in the last few decades. The APG II system (2003) assigns it to the order of Caryophyllales , a lay of eudicot . The Kronquist system (1981) places it in order Rosaceae . Prior to the isolation of the Rhabdodendraceae family, the systematic position of the genus Rhabdodendron was not precisely determined, and in different systems it was assigned to different families.
