In 2012, the tournament was held from April 9 to April 15 . The competition began a near-European series of dirt tournaments, preparatory to the May Roland Garros .

General Information
The first seeding number in the single player tournament was Florian Mayer (No. 20 in the world at that time). However, neither the German, nor the second sowing racket - the Ukrainian Alexander Dolgopolov - managed to show their worth at the Moroccan prize: they both lost in their opening matches. In the absence of more status rivals, his last year’s title was able to confidently defend the third seeding number - Spaniard Pablo Andujar , who lost only four sets in four matches at the 2012 tournament: in the quarterfinal to compatriot Sergio Gutierrez-Ferrol . A couple of Pablo in the final were another Spaniard - Albert Ramos , for whom this title match was the debut in the competitions of the main round of the association in any category.
The pair tournament, in the absence of last year’s champions, significantly reduced its level, as a result of which the title went to one of the random unseeded duets: the German-Australian couple Dustin Brown / Paul Henley consecutively outplayed the three seeded alliances and won the main prize. Their rivals in the title match was the fourth seeding pair: Italians Fabio Fognini and Daniele Bracci .
