Currently, on the front side of the banknote there is a portrait of the first US Treasury Secretary - Alexander Hamilton , on the back of the building of the US Treasury Department . All banknotes currently in use are issued by the Federal Reserve .
Appearance
Tickets for the 1996–2013 series are currently in circulation. Banknote size 155.956 by 66.294mm (6.14 by 2.61 inches ) [1] , wear resistance of about 18 months [2] .
To the right of the center is a portrait of the first US Secretary of State, Alexander Hamilton (despite the fact that, unlike other people depicted on US banknotes, Hamilton was not the US president , along with Benjamin Franklin .) There are seals on both sides: the federal reserve system and US Treasury . On the background there is an image of the torch of the Statue of Liberty . The main view of the back of the banknote is occupied by the building of the Ministry of Finance , with the corresponding signature “US Treasury”. [3]
By a decision of 2015, a new banknote was expected in 2020 with an image of an unknown woman on the front side [4] . However, the decision was revised in 2016 due to the increased popularity of Hamilton.
