Tokai South Coast

Tokay Southern Coast - vintage white dessert wine produced by the Crimean winery " Gurzuf " which is part of the " Massandra " combine [1] .

Wine has been produced since 1932 . In the years 1892-1938 it was issued under the name "Ai-Danil No. 89" - "Tokai Ai-Danil". This wine was liqueur based on sugar content (alcohol - 13%, sugar - 22-24 g / 100 cubic cm) [1] [2] .

The wine is made from Furmint and Harshlevel grape varieties grown on the southern coast of Crimea . These grape varieties are "Tokai varieties" and were brought here from the environs of the city of Tokai . Use grapes reached a sugar content of at least 26%. This is facilitated by a large number of sunny days and warm soil.

Characteristics of wine: alcohol - 16%, sugar - 20 g / 100 cu. cm, titratable acids - 4-7 g / cu. dm The color is golden and amber. Bouquet with hints of bread crust and quince jam. Wine is aged - 2 years [2] [3] .

At international competitions, the wine has been awarded prizes: the Grand Prix Cup [4] , 18 gold [5] [6] and 3 silver medals. Among them are awards in competitions: " Ljubljana " ( 1955 ) and (1958), " Brussels " ( 1958 ), " Hungary " (1958), " Yugoslavia " (1958), " Yalta " (1970) [6] and (2006 ) [1] [3] [5] [7] .
