Attack
On October 4, 2011, civil servants went to work, and students and their parents lined up in front of the Somali Ministry of Education to register for scholarships from the Turkish government. At this time, a terrorist in a mined truck detonated an explosive device, killing more than 100 people. This terrorist attack was the deadliest attack of the militants of the Islamic group Jamaat Al-Shabaab .

30 victims of the attack were sent to Turkey for treatment at the expense of Ankara . Turkish authorities decided to help the Somali authorities and sent a plane to Mogadishu , where the wounded were brought to Turkey.
