Ethiopo-Somali Border War (1982)

Ethiopo-Somali Border War of 1982 - fighting in June-August 1982, when Somali rebels with military support from Ethiopia (numbering up to 10 thousand people [1] ) invaded the central regions of Somalia and captured a number of settlements, including the cities of Balumbale and Galdogob. These hostilities served as a catalyst for the start of US military assistance to Somalia, which ended the skirmishes [2] [3] .
