Alexander I Georgievich ( Georgian ალექსანდრე I, Alek'sandre I ; 1445/1456 - April 27, 1511 ) - Tsar of Kakheti in ( 1476 - 1511 ). The son of Tsar George VIII (and his second wife Nestan-Darejan). From the Bagration dynasty.

Board
During the invasion of Uzun-Hassan in 1477, many regions of Georgia were ravaged (Herki, Saguramo , Martkopi, Tianeti ). Alexander I, having brought offerings and declarations of humility to Uzun-Hassan, saved Kakheti from ruin. At the beginning of the 16th century, he became a vassal of the Iranian Shah Ismail Safavi in connection with the Persian invasion of Shirvan ( 1501 ). After that, peace between Kakheti and Iran was not broken until the 17th century .
In 1483 and in 1491 he sent embassies to the Grand Duke Ivan III of Moscow.
Family
He was married twice: to Anna, daughter of Prince. Garsevan Cholokashvili, and a certain Tinatin. His youngest son, Demeter Tvaldamtsari, is the ancestor of the princes Bagration-Davydov (Bagration-Davitishvili).
Killed as a result of court intrigues and conspiracy of the eldest son George .
