Policy
In the 2012 presidential election, residents of the canton gave 32.4% of the vote in the 1st round to Francois Hollande versus 29.2% for Marin Le Pen and 17.0% for Nicolas Sarkozy , and Hollande won in the 2nd round in the canton 60.1% of the vote (2007 1st round: Segolen Royal - 29.6%; Sarkozy - 24.4%. 2nd round: Royal - 53.9%).
