Progress and prospects
- April 2009 : The expansion of Harrisburg Boulevard began, to build a tram line in the middle of the road later [1] .
- Summer 2011 : The allocation of sections in the middle of the road began to begin construction [5] .
- December 2011: The Federal Passenger Transportation Administration allocated $ 900 million to complete the construction of the Southeast , East End lines and extend the Severnaya line [6] .
- Spring 2012 : Communication is transferred and the movement is organized for the period of work [5] .
Previously, the line was planned to be commissioned by October 2013 , but due to problems with the “ ” law, the period was postponed until 2014 [7] , and according to the public transport development plan, the lines were to be put into operation in 2012 [8 ] .
The line opened on May 23, 2015, the cost of construction was $ 527 million [4] [9] .
The general plan for the development of public transport indicates that future plans include the extension of the branch to the airport named after Hobby [10] . The extension is planned in the third phase of the construction of the tram system, after the end of the current construction of the lines “ Southeast ”, “East End” and the extension of the line “ Severnaya ” [10] .
