Despite the "orchestral" sound, Koop's music is completely electronic and composed of thousands of short samples . This way of creating compositions partly explains the long pauses between albums.

Received the 2003 Swedish Grammy for the Waltz for Koop album. Koop Islands was awarded a gold certificate. The band split up after Coup de Grâce for unknown reasons.
