Christoffel (Chris) Hendrik Dekker ( niderl. Christoffel "Chris" Hendrik Dekker ; December 6, 1945 , Westzan, Zaanstad) is a Dutch football player and football coach. He played on the positions of the central midfielder and defender .

Career

Club

He began his career in the amateur club "Zanstrek", later became a player in the professional club " AZ-67 ". In the first season in the top division, he took part in 32 matches and scored 4 goals [1] . Later, one season played in the club NEC , then moved to the Amsterdam ICE , and after its reorganization, he played for Amsterdam . As part of Amsterdam, he participated in the UEFA Cup 1974/75 draw: before leaving the team, he played 4 matches and scored 1 goal [2] .

In January 1975, he became a MVB player, in which he flew out of Eredivizi. The next club in the career of Dekker was the Belgian " Charleroi ", in which he was one of the leading players and played for the team over 100 matches. In 1980, six months on loan acted for Hong Kong “ Seiko ”, in which many Dutch footballers traditionally played.

Finished his career in the Netherlands, played in Rotterdam's " Sparta " and Sittardskoy " Fortune ", which played for almost 40 years. The last match in the "Fortune" held March 10, 1985 against his former team - "Sparta" [3] .

In the national team

Spent one game for the Netherlands national team [4] . On March 27, 1974, he replaced instead of Johan Neskens in a friendly match against the Austrian national team , which ended with the score 1: 1 [5] . He was among the candidates for the trip to the 1974 World Cup , but was not included in the final application [6] .

Coaching

Immediately after completing his playing career, he became a coach. Six years, until 1991, he worked with the youth of " Fortune ", after which one season he headed " Eindhoven " [7] . He was invited to "Fortune", but flew with the team in the first division , and in the spring of 1994 he was dismissed for unsatisfactory results. Over the next year he worked with the Al-Jazeera club from the UAE .

Returning to the Netherlands, he coached Den Bosch and the Feyenoord junior team, then worked again in the Middle East - this time with the Qatar youth team [7] . The latest to Decker's club today was the “native” sittard Fortuna, which he left in the summer of 2006 .
