Central Park of Culture and Rest M. Gafuri (Gafuri Park) - a recreation park in Ufa . Located in the Oktyabrsky district of the city. It is limited from the east by October Avenue , from the west by Richard Sorge Street . Near the park are Lenin Square and the Russian Academic Drama Theater of Bashkortostan . The total area of ​​the park is 29 hectares, divided into the upper part: from V. Lenin Square to Blucher Street, with an area of ​​10 hectares. And the lower one: a forest-park zone, a horse base, go-karting, an ice rink, tubing, with an area of ​​19 hectares. The park was named after Mazhit Gafuri - a classic of Soviet Bashkir and Tatar literature.

Park History

Gafuri Park was created in 1961 on the site of the Ufa City Forestry. This decision was made by resolution No. 72 of the Bureau of the Regional Committee of the CPSU and the Council of Ministers of the BASSR on February 15, 1960, as well as by a decision of the meeting of the executive committee of the Ufa city council of deputies of workers of the Bashkir ASSR of May 19, 1961. According to the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Belarus No. 6-2 / 264 dated June 04, 1992 the park became part of the municipal property of the city of Ufa. On August 11, 1993, in accordance with the decree of the head of the administration of the Oktyabrsky district of Ufa No. 986, the park was registered as a municipal institution and began to be officially called the Central Park of Culture and Rest named after M. Gafuri. " On February 28, 2006 the park was transformed into a municipal unitary enterprise.

In the eastern part of the park, the remains of the arboretum, which was planted in the 1930s, are still preserved in some places. Manchurian nut, Amur velvet, and another 20 species of trees and shrubs that are not typical for Bashkortostan grow here.

The park is built in 2001-2002. an amusement complex, which includes a room of fear, electric cars, swings and carousels, as well as numerous summer cafes. Until 2013, a ferris wheel with a height of 27 m worked in the park. It was the only surviving one in Ufa. In winter, the park organizes skiing and ice skating.

A project has been developed according to which summer cafes will be removed from the park, sports complexes, a swimming pool will be installed and, possibly, a monorail will be launched around the park [1] .

Seventh Heaven Ferris Wheel

Opened in 2014. In terms of altitude of 48 meters, it is the second in the city after the Iremel wheel (60 m), and is also among the ten largest in Russia . In a number of sources, it is the first ferris wheel operating in Russia the first year-round working [2] [3] [4] .

History

The construction began on August 28, 2013 with the laying of the first stone, in which the head of the City Administration Irek Yalalov took part [5] . The official opening took place on September 27, 2014, but the attraction became available to visitors from September 19 [6] . The total cost along with the reconstruction of the park amounted to 125 million rubles. For the first 10 days of work, 37 thousand people swept it [7] . Earlier in the park there was a wheel of a lower height (27 m), but it was dismantled before the construction of a new one [8] .

Features

The height is 48 meters, the turnaround time is from 6 to 12 minutes, depending on the workload [9] . In terms of capacity, it has similar characteristics to Iremel - 24 cabins with a capacity of up to 6 people, which are also equipped with heating and air conditioning systems, which allows it to function throughout the year [10] . The attraction is open from 09:00 to 24:00.
