Dictionary

Only one list of Tamborean words is known, compiled by the commander of the British armed forces in the region, Sir Stamford Raffles, shortly before the eruption and published in 1817. [1] . Obviously, the language was not Austronesian ; it has only a few Austronesian borrowings. [2]
