Biography
In 1929, Boris Ivanov graduated from the Odessa Art Institute .
Six years later, in 1935 he moved to permanent residence in Kiev . After the outbreak of war, he participated in the defense of Kiev . On June 26, Ivanov volunteered to serve in the Pinsk Naval Flotilla and became a machine gunner on the Zhytomyr monitor [1] . Obviously, B. Ivanov was part of the so-called 2nd PVF ground detachment with a strength of 300-400 people [2] , formed from the crews of dead ships and taking part in repelling the 2nd assault on the Kiev fortified area [3] . After leaving Kiev on September 19, Ivanov B.N. as a part of the detachment ended up in the eastern suburbs of Kiev. Alone, bravely held the defense to the last bullet, and then, twice wounded, with the last grenade blew himself up with the Nazis on September 20, 1941, near Borispol [1] , where on this day the Dnieper sailors fought stubbornly against the Germans [2] .
