History

The settlement was founded in 1592 on the site of an Indian village.
The status of the city was assigned on May 7, 1776 .
Economics
Fusagasuga is a regional agricultural center. Recently, the city has been actively developing the service sector , in particular tourism . The city is located on the Pan American Highway, which also contributes to its development.
