Geography

The village is located at the confluence of the Przewka River and Zushu , 3 km from the Novosil regional center. Nearest localities: Penkozavod settlement, 1 km to the south-west, the village of Sorochiy Most , 1 km to the west and Petushki , 1.5 km to the south. Height above sea level is 174 m [2] .

History

The year of foundation is unknown, but there is information in the books of the first half of the XIX century. The village used to be called Tukovka and had a second name Petrovka [3] . It belonged to the Novosilsky parish of the St. Nicholas Church [4] and was part of the Prudovsky volost. In 1894, a school of letters was opened in the village. During the Great Patriotic War, the city of Novosil and the area were severely damaged. Particularly fierce fighting took place in the summer of 1943 near the village of Vyazhi . From December 27, 1941 to July 12, 1943, the front line was held there. The village of Tyukovo was occupied in November 1941 and liberated by the Red Army, like Novosil, at the end of December 1941 [5] .

According to the parish lists of the Tula eparchy for 1857, in the village of Tyukovo (Petrovka tozh) there were 238 parishioners. Of these, 12 people of the military department, 226 landlord peasants. The village meant the presence of the master's house [6] .

Infrastructure

There are 56 houses in the village, most of them are now destroyed. Residential left 17 (2014). Within a kilometer is the village of Mokhovka, which is also included in Tyukovo, as well as a small village on the other bank of the Przewka River. There are 3 streets in the village [9] .

People associated with the village

Colonel Mikhail Ivanovich Yakushev was born in Tyukovo, famous for taking prisoner General Vlasov [10] [11] .
