NHL Career
In the 2006 NHL draft, he was selected under the overall 50th number in the second round by the Boston Bruins team. In 2007, he signed a rookie contract with the team for 3 years. In his debut season, he scored 27 points in 77 games and scored 2 more points in the playoffs . At the beginning of next season he made his first hat-trick in his career. But the “bears” could not get the “ Philadelphia Flyers ” in the playoffs, leading the series 3-0. But the new season was just triumphant. Milan scored 62 points, becoming the team’s top scorer and sniper in the regular season. In the playoffs, he slowed down, but nevertheless scored 12 points in 25 games and helped Boston win the Stanley Cup for the first time in 39 years.
On June 26, 2015, Boston traded Lucic to the Los Angeles Kings for goalkeeper Martin Jones , defender Colin Miller and a 2015 pick in the first round of the draft [1] .
In the summer of 2016, the Kings offered the player a new 8-year contract [2] , but Lučić decided to move to Edmonton Oilers as an unlimited free agent, signing a 7-year contract for $ 42 million [3] .
On July 19, 2019, the Edmonton Oilers traded Lucic at Calgary Flames for striker James Neal , as well as a conditional choice in the third round of the 2020 draft [4] .
