Niall Matter ( Niall Matter , pronounced Ny-ull May-ter ; October 20, 1980 [1] ) is a Canadian actor who became famous for his role as Zane Donovan in the Syfy channel series Eureka .

Biography and career
Niall was born in Edmonton , Alberta in Canada [1] , his ancestors are Irish and Russian. Eight years (from 17 to 25 years), Niall worked on an oil platform in Northern Alberta [1] . After hospitalization due to an accident in which Niall nearly had his leg amputated, the man decided to return to land. For six months, Matter learned to walk again at the rehabilitation center, and then returned home to Vancouver . After a month of work as a bartender, Niall got a role in the movie "Secrets of Loch Ness" on SyFy . During the filming of the film, he sent his samples to the series "Best Years" and got the role of Trent Hamilton.
This was followed by guest roles in the series “ Stargate: Atlantis ”, “ Eureka ” [2] , “ Vault 13 ” and “The Incarnation of Fear”. The producers and the public liked his character in Eureka so much that the bosses hired the actor on an ongoing basis, and soon Matter became the star of the show, also starring in the unsuccessful pilot of the series “Mistresses”.
After trying out the comedy “ My Best Friend 's Girlfriend,” Matter won the love of the CBS casting department and received guest roles in the TV series Melrose Place [2] and 90210: The New Generation [2] .
Also starred in the films " Keepers " of Zack Snyder , "Under the Mask", "Axley", "Secrets of the Summer House" with Lindsay Price in the title role and "Doctor Dolittle 4" with Peter Coyote .
