The list contains non-profit funds. Funds that are part of large companies are not included in the list (for example, holding companies ).
The list is sorted in descending order of the total number of donations (i.e., the current total value of donations invested in the fund). Donations are measured in US dollars and are given in the national currency of the fund at the exchange rate as of March 4, 2008 . Due to the constant fluctuation of the exchange rate, the list is only the estimated value of each fund. The total equity of the listed organizations is 219.8 billion US dollars.
