Forest Neolithic - a local variety of Neolithic , characteristic of the forest zone of Eastern Europe. It is distinguished by conservatism, the preservation of the "surviving" features of the Mesolithic [1] and the absence of "turbulent" forms of the Neolithic revolution , characteristic of the steppe or classical Neolithic (the transition to productive forms of economy, the emergence of writing and proto cities ). In the forest Neolithic, the leading role of hunting and fishing, as well as the use of stone tools, remains, but ceramics and sedentary settlements of fishermen consisting of dugouts appear.
