Story
Perry, a black student, works at a homeless shelter. His parents don't want to have anything to do with him, because he is gay . The guy meets an elderly homeless man named Bruce, who, as it turned out, at one time was an important figure of the Harlem Renaissance . Bruce recalls other members of the cultural movement, such as Langston Hughes and Zora Neil Hurston and also about the problems that he faced, as a young black gay writer in the 1920s. Perry discovers that the problems of homophobia and racism in the beginning of the 21st century are just as relevant as they were when Bruce was young.
