Biography

Alexander Vasilyevich Olshevsky was born on November 16, 1920 in the village of Kara-Ballyk of the Minusinsky district of the Yenisei province of the RSFSR (now a village in the Krasnoturansky district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory of the Russian Federation ) in a peasant family of Vasily Romanovich and Anastasia Ivanovna Olshevsky. On March 24, 1945, by a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR Guard, the second lieutenant Alexander Vasilyevich Olshevsky was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.

Alexander Vasilievich finished the war in Berlin on May 3, 1945. On the account of the crew of Olshevsky there were 14 destroyed enemy tanks and self-propelled guns. After the Victory, A. V. Olshevsky continued his service in the 9th Panzer Corps, which in July 1945 was renamed the 9th Panzer Division as part of the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany . In 1946, Alexander Vasilievich retired to the reserve with the rank of lieutenant . He returned to his native places and lived for some time in the Krasnoturan district. Then he left for Crimea , lived in the hero city of Kerch, Crimean region of the Ukrainian SSR . He worked as the dispatcher of the Crimea- Caucasus ferry . September 20, 1973, Alexander Vasilyevich died. He was buried in Kerch.
