Career
Club
He played for the Atlético Madrid junior team, and then he was transferred to the second team and signed a professional contract until June 2014 [1] .
Joel spent the 2009/10 season at Atlético B and was the third goalkeeper of the main team. On May 8, 2010, he debuted in Example . The presence in the applications for the finals of the Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup gave him the opportunity to win these tournaments. He spent the next season in reserve. Joel started the 2011/12 season as the main goalkeeper after David de Gea left for Manchester United , but lost the competition to Thibaut Courtois . In the winter of 2012, the goalkeeper went on loan to Rayo Vallecano , for which he played in 13 meetings until the end of the season.
In the winter of 2013, the goalkeeper again went on loan: this time to the club of the English Premier League Wigan Athletic [2] . On January 26, he made his Wigan debut in the FA Cup match against Macclesfield Town (1-0). In the Premier League, the footballer made his debut on March 17, 2013 in a game against Newcastle , which ended in a 2-1 win for Wigan. Thus, he managed to win the fight against Ali al-Khabsi for a place in the starting lineup and became the main “Latiks” goalkeeper in the spring part of the Premier League and FA Cup. On May 11, Robles entered the final match of the FA Cup in Wigan’s starting lineup, where he managed to keep his goal intact, and his team won 1-0.
On July 9, 2013, Robles moved to Everton , which had previously been led by Spanish mentor Roberto Martinez , who was familiar with Hoel from working at Wigan. [3] The goalkeeper signed a contract for 5 years with the Merseyside team. On December 26, 2013, the footballer first played for Everton in the Premier League, replacing a 24-minute meeting against Sunderland after removing the main goalkeeper of the team, Tim Howard . The match ended with the defeat of “Everton” with a score of 0: 1, Robles missed the only goal from the penalty spot. In the next round, Hoel first appeared in the starting lineup of “butterscotch” in a winning match against “ Southampton ” (2: 1). In addition, in the 2013/14 season, Hoel played in four FA Cup matches and two League Cup matches.
The next time Robles entered the Premier League on December 26, 2014 during a break between Stoke City and replaced Howard injured. In total, in the winter of 2014-2015, Robles took part in seven matches of the team in the Premier League, in four of which he did not concede goals. However, after Howard recovered from his injury, he again managed to oust the Spaniard from the main squad of Everton.
The season 2015/16 started again as the second goalkeeper of the team, but during the season he was able to oust Tim Howard, who left Everton at the end of the season. Total played that season in 13 Premier League games.
At the beginning of the 2016/17 season, he again appeared on the bench, losing the fight to Martin Stekelenburg , however, during the tournament he regained his place at the base and played for the season in 20 games of the Premier League, in ten of which he did not concede goals.
In June 2018, upon expiration of the contract, he left Everton [4] .
