Geographical position
The area is located along the eastern coast of the Aurajoki River and therefore received its second name Itäranta ( Fin. Itäranta ). In the north, it borders with the IV region - Martti , in the south - Vyahäheikkilä and in the west - Korppolaysmäki .
Attractions
The area sprang up around the old factory, and the streets got names on a marine theme. Apartments in residential buildings on Vilkkilänmäki, overlooking the river, are among the highest in price. On the other hand, the complex of buildings built on Laivurinranna is criticized for being too dense.
The old housing stock is represented by industrial barracks, which are currently used for various cultural purposes.
Transport
On the Aurajoki River, there is a free ferry Feri connecting the Ityaranta District with the VIII District .
