Biography
He was born on May 26, 1923 in the village of Gvazauri now in the Tsulukidze district of Georgia in a peasant family. Secondary education.
In 1941 he was mobilized into the Red Army . In August he got to the front. In 1942 he graduated from the Tbilisi Military Infantry School, and in the same year joined the CPSU (B.) .
In the rank of senior lieutenant, he commanded a company of the 955th rifle regiment of the 309th rifle division of the 40th army of the Voronezh Front .
On September 22, 1943, the company, headed by Akaki Tereladze, was among the first to cross the Dnieper in the vicinity of the village of Monastyryok (now the city of Rzhishchev, Kiev region of Ukraine ).
The infantrymen took control of the village and the dominant heights, gained a foothold there and repelled many attacks of superior enemy forces, destroying about two battalions of enemy infantry and 3 tanks.
Senior Lieutenant Tereladze died in battle on October 2, 1943. He was buried in Rzhishchev.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of January 10, 1944, he was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union. He was also awarded the Order of Lenin, the Order of the Red Banner, the Order of the Red Star.
