Biography
August Carl Edward Baldamus graduated from the University of Berlin , where he studied theology. Then he was first a gymnasium teacher, then a pastor.
Along with I.F. Naumann and O.F. von Homayer, he was one of the initiators of the creation of the Society of German Ornithologists in Leipzig in 1850.
Together with Blasius, he worked on the ending of Naumann 's Naturgeschichte der Vögel Deutschlands, and wrote: Illustriertes Handbuch der Federviehzucht (2 ed., 2 vol., Dresd., 1881); “Vogelmärchen” (Dresd., 1876), “Das Hausgeflügel” (Dresd., 1882). From 1849 to 1858, Baldamus published Naumania. Archiv für Ornithologie. "
