Nikolay Nikolaevich Trofimov ( January 21, 1920 , Sevastopol - November 7, 2005 , St. Petersburg ) is a Soviet Russian film and theater actor . People's Artist of the USSR (1990).

Biography
Nikolai Trofimov was born into a working class family.
He began his stage career in 1934, playing the slave in the play Uncle Tom's Cabin at the Sevastopol Youth Theater.
In 1941 he graduated from the Leningrad Theater Institute (now the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts ), class B.V. Zone .
During the war he served in the Navy , was a soloist in the Central Song and Dance Ensemble of the Navy of the USSR . He sang in the "Ensemble of the Five Seas" by I. O. Dunaevsky .
Since 1944 - actor of the Tallinn Theater of the Baltic Fleet of the Navy of the USSR. In 1946, Nikolai Akimov invited him to the Comedy Theater in Leningrad . From 1963 to 1964, he was an actor at the Lenin Komsomol Leningrad Theater (now the Baltic House Theater). In 1964, at the invitation of George Tovstonogov, he moved to the Bolshoi Drama Theater. M. Gorky (BDT), in which he served until the end of life.
On the stage, the BDT played more than 40 roles, including Chebutykin in Three Sisters , Lebedev in Idiot , Hakob in Khanum , Perchikhina in Gorky 's Meshchans , Major in the play by I. Erken, “Toto, Other and Major . " One of his most significant theatrical roles was Mr. Pickwick in the Pickwick Club . In the same role, he last appeared on the scene on the day of his 85th birthday - January 21, 2005. The last time the actor visited his native theater on September 15, 2005 during a gala evening dedicated to the anniversary of the artistic director of the BDT Kirill Lavrov .
In the cinema, he played mostly small roles, but among them were such memorable ones as captain Tushin in “ War and Peace ” by S. Bondarchuk and police colonel in “The Diamond Hand ” by L. Gaidai . The most significant roles are Rasplyuev in the film “Merry Rasklyuev Days” , the main role in the adaptation of Vaudeville D.T. Lensky “Lev Gurych Sinichkin” , the collective farmer Ivan Afrikanych in the film “ Africananich ”.
Nikolay Nikolaevich Trofimov died on the night of November 7, 2005 in the Alexander Hospital of St. Petersburg from the effects of a stroke . He was buried on November 14 at the Literary bridges of the Volkovsky cemetery . [one]
