Barelli, Minus

Minos Barelli ( French Minouche Barelli ; December 13, 1947 , Paris - February 20, 2004 , Monaco ) is a French singer who became famous in Europe thanks to her participation in Eurovision 1967 , where she represented Monaco. Her real name is Marie-Pierre Barelli.

Biography

Minusz's father is a jazz musician Aime Barelli, and his mother is singer Lucien Delil [1] .

On June 23-25, 1966, Barelli took part in the Rose de France Song Festival in Antibes , which is also known as the Golden Rose Festival. Minusch performed the song "Goualante 67" from the just-recorded record [2] . She, being one of thirty participants in the festival, took the prize. The second place went to the duet Line et Willy, who also represented Monaco at the Eurovision Song Contest the next year after Minusz.

In 1967, Minusz represented Monaco at the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna with the song “Boum-Badaboum”, which was written by Serge Gainsbourg . During the performance, the father of the singer conducted the orchestra. The song, performed in French, took fifth place among seventeen participants [3] . Also recorded were versions of the song in English, German and Italian, which were released on vinyl singles in different countries of Europe.

In the summer of 1968, Minush, who had previously been signed to CBS, switched to a new label, Barclay . Only in 1970 did her new disc “On s'aimera” [4] see the light of day. In 1980, Minusch took part in the French national selection of the Eurovision song with the song “Viens dans ma farandole”. She took sixth place in the second semi-final [3] .

Minush was a constant announcer on Montmartre radio for a long time, was also a TV presenter, worked on TF1 . The singer accepted the citizenship of Monaco in 2002. And there, in the Principality of Monaco, Minusz Barelli died on February 20, 2004 at the age of 56 years after an illness [3] .
