Biography
Born on January 4, 1771, son of an officer of the Life Guards Regiment of the Transfiguration. He was enlisted in the military service on June 20, 1775 by the corporal in the Life Guards Preobrazhensky Regiment , on June 28, 1776 he was transferred to the Life Guards Izmailovsky Regiment by a sergeant .
After he was commissioned, Sukharev took part in the Russian-Swedish war in 1789-1790 and distinguished himself in the battle of Svenksund, on August 22, 1789, he was promoted to warrant officer .
Produced on April 1, 1797 as captains, Sukharev on September 8, 1798, was dismissed for state affairs with renaming to collegiate councilors and on July 16, 1799, he was appointed to the State Revenue Expedition. May 12, 1800 promoted to State Councilors .
July 5, 1801 he returned to military service with the rank of Major General and was appointed a member of the Military Collegium.
With the beginning of the Patriotic War of 1812, Sukharev joined the St. Petersburg militia, where he was first a general on duty, then chief of the 16th squad. After his campaign, he fell ill, and only in December was able to join the army in the field. In 1813, he was appointed commander of a brigade in one of the infantry divisions, participated in the battles of Gisgübel and Plautsen, and was under the blockade of Dresden and Hamburg .

In February 1814 he was appointed chairman of the field audience of the Polish Army, in 1815 - director of hospitals in Frankfurt. January 4, 1816, on his return from the foreign campaign , Sukharev was dismissed with his uniform and pension.
On April 9, 1826, he was again accepted to military service with admission to the army, and he was established seniority with the rank of major general from October 10, 1811. It consisted of the St. Petersburg Ordinance-gauze and the presuze of the Commission of the Military Court in St. Petersburg , was investigating the activities of food officials.
On June 5, 1832, Sukharev was promoted to secret advisers and appointed a senator. From June 9 he was present at the former provisional general meeting of the Senate. From April 3, 1837, he was present at the 3rd division of the 5th Department and from April 11, 1839 - in the Land Surveillance Department. January 1, 1853 promoted to real secret advisers.
He died on April 30, 1853 in St. Petersburg , and was buried in the Tikhvin cemetery of the Alexander Nevsky Monastery .
Family
Sukharev's first wife was Agathoklea Markovna Poltoratskaya (07.30.1776–31.01.1840), the heiress of the manor house Kosaya Gora , daughter of M. F. Poltoratsky from his marriage with A. Shishkova . According to M. Korf , Senator Sukharev, a man empty and insignificant, was known only by his wife. She was a smart, energetic woman, an excellent manager, but together in tone and manners a decent saleswoman [1] . An active philanthropist, she took the place of the chairwoman of the Women's Trusteeship Committee on prisons and for more than 16 years - chairperson of the St. Petersburg Women's Patriotic Society [2] . She was loved and distinguished by the empress and the emperor.
Their son Alexander (1802–1862) in 1829 was dismissed from the Life Guards of the Horse Regiment by a staff captain; Their daughter Agathoclay was the wife of the general from the artillery of the Apostle Costa .
