Biography
Jean-Baptiste Barla was born on May 3, 1817 in the city of Nice in France.
He was interested in botany, mostly mycology. In 1856, Barl's book was published on the flora of mushrooms in the vicinity of Nice. Since 1865 he worked as director of the Natural History Museum in Nice. In 1868, scientists published a book dedicated to orchids, it presented 63 colorful illustrations. From 1885 to 1889, Barla published several articles in the journal of the Mycological Society of France. These were monographs of some large genera of mushrooms, such as fly agaric , tricholoma , govorushka , lepiota . Jean-Baptiste Barla participated in a collection of illustrations of M. Foss mushrooms Icones Fungorum Agri Nicaeensis .
Jean-Baptiste Barla died on November 5, 1896 in Nice.
