Gennady Vasilievich Kolbin ( May 7, 1927, Nizhny Tagil, Sverdlovsk Region , January 15, 1998 , Moscow ) - Soviet political figure, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan (1986-1989). Member of the CPSU Central Committee (1981-1990; candidate for membership in the CPSU Central Committee in 1976-1981). The delegate of the XXIII , XXIV , XXV , XXVI , XXVII , XXVIII Congresses of the CPSU and the XIX All-Union Conference of the CPSU . Member of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR (1979-1989), member of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR (1987-1989). People's Deputy of the USSR (1989-1991). Member of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR (1971-1975). Member of the Supreme Council of the Georgian SSR (1975-1984). Biography
- 1942-1943 - Apprentice model designer at the factory, shoemaker artel in Nizhny Tagil.
- 1943-1947 - A student of the Nizhny Tagil Mining and Metallurgical College.
- 1947-1959 - Design engineer, head of the technology bureau, deputy head of the workshop, head of the workshop, deputy chief engineer at the plant in Nizhny Tagil.
- In 1955 he graduated in absentia from the Ural Polytechnic Institute named after S. M. Kirov , studied at graduate school.
Party career
- 1959 - Secretary of the Party Committee at the factory.
- 1959-1962 - Second Secretary, First Secretary of the Lenin District Committee of the CPSU of Nizhny Tagil .
- 1962-1970 - Second Secretary, First Secretary of the Nizhny Tagil CPSU City Committee.
- 1970-1975 - Secretary, second secretary of the Sverdlovsk regional committee of the CPSU (the first secretaries were K.K. Nikolaev , Ya. P. Ryabov ).
- 1975-1983 - Second Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Georgia (then A.A.Shevardnadze was the first secretary). After leaving, in 1976, to Moscow, for promotion, the first secretary of the Sverdlovsk regional committee of the CPSU, Y. P. Ryabov, was considered as the main candidate for the post of first secretary of the Sverdlovsk regional committee of the CPSU. However, for reasons still not understood, this post, in violation of absolutely all norms of the then existing party subordination, went to Boris N. Yeltsin , then head of the construction department of the Sverdlovsk Regional Committee of the CPSU.
- 1983-1986 - First Secretary of the Ulyanovsk Regional Party Committee. On his initiative, the Center for Microelectronics, a branch of Moscow State University , was opened in Ulyanovsk , a decision was made to build a new bridge across the Volga [1] .
- 1986-1989 - First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan . He was replaced by D. A. Kunaev . The December events in Almaty are associated with this shift.
- 1989-1990 - Chairman of the Committee of National Control of the USSR .
Retired
- Since December 1990 - a personal pensioner of national importance.
- In 1992-1998 - Chairman of the Board of Directors of OJSC Mosuralbank.
Death
- He died in a Moscow metro car, accidentally identified after 5 days [2] . He was buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery in Moscow [3] .
