Konya Tram is a modern tram system operating since 1992 . Along with the Istanbul tram , which appeared in the same year, it is Turkey 's oldest tram system among existing ones.

History
The construction of the tram in Konya began in 1986. The first line was commissioned in 1992.
Network Description
There are two tram lines in Konya:
- 1 : Alaaddin - Bus Station (Otogar).
- 2 : Alaaddin - Mukhendislik Mimarlik Fakyultesi (Mühendislik Mimarlik Fakültesi, Selcuk University campus).
The first tram line is 18 km long and connects the city center with a university located on the outskirts. There are twenty stops on the line. Track gauge - 1435 mm.
In the future, it is planned to build two more lines.
Rolling stock
Originally used in Konya were trams of the Düwag GT8 type from Cologne . The trams were articulated, three-section. The first trams were purchased in 1989, later trams were purchased in 1995 and 1996. The last batch of former Cologne trams arrived in Konya in October 2004. In total, 61 trams from Cologne worked in Konya.
In 2013, an order was placed for 60 low-floor Skoda 28T and Skoda 28T2 trams, the contract price is 104 million euros. It is these trams that currently operate on the lines
