Synthesis OJSC ( Open Joint- Stock Company Kurgan Joint-Stock Company of Medical Products and Products Synthesis) is a Russian plant for the production of medicines and devices for blood transfusion. It is one of the three leaders in the production of drugs in kind [1] . Located in the city of Kurgan . The plant is jointly owned by Rostec and the Marathon Pharma group of companies (part of the investment company Marathon Group / Marathon Group) [2] .

History
The Kurgan Medication Plant was originally created as a manufacturer of antibiotics for factories. The first product is biomycin . On September 15, 1958, the first sowing apparatus was seeded, and by November 7, the first kilograms of biomycin were received. Graduates of the Leningrad Chemical-Pharmaceutical Institute , Moscow Institute of Fine Chemical Technology and other universities of the country became engineers and specialists. In the mid-90s, the plant began to produce tablets, capsules, ampoules, ointments, eye drops. The nomenclature increased from 40 to 200 items.
By 1959, production of vitamin B12 , the first antibiotics in the USSR for veterinary medicine - biovitin , biovit-40, and the production of a growth stimulant for gibberellin plants was mastered . In 1962, the production of tablet preparations began. In 1965, production of the antifungal drug Trichothein was mastered. Subsequently, the Kurgan plant rapidly developed the production of antibiotics.
By 1973, the plant acquired its current name - “Synthesis”. In 1987, the production of endocrine preparations ( insulin , heparin ) was launched, the regulated biosynthesis of phenoxymethylpenicillin , erythromycin and vitamin B12 was mastered, a new technology for the production of ampicillin trihydrate was introduced.
July 19, 1983 for the significant success of Synthesis in the development of new drugs, the plant was awarded the Order of Honor .
Since 1988, the plant has been operating on the basis of full cost accounting.
During the Soviet period, more than 30 residential buildings, 5 kindergartens, 5 dormitories, a sports complex, the Cosmos pioneer camp, a factory dispensary and a club were built
December 30, 1992 was the corporatization of the plant, which became known as the "Joint Stock Company of the Kurgan medications and products" Synthesis ".
In 2003, the managing company Farm Center was established.
In the mid-2000s, the plant sponsored the Sintez men's volleyball club (Kurgan), which played in the second strongest league in Russian volleyball.
In 2005, there were changes in the composition of the shareholders of AKO Synthesis OJSC — the largest Russian distributor of the pharmaceutical market, SIA International LTD CJSC, which has been under the management of its founder Igor Feliksovich Rudinsky since 1993, has become the main shareholder.
In 2012, the plant had more than 3,000 employees and occupied an area of 67 hectares [3] .
In 2014, a federal-owned block of shares in Sintez OJSC (32.4%) was transferred as a property contribution of the Russian Federation to Rostec State Corporation. This allowed Rostec Group to consolidate assets in OJSC National Immunobiological Company (a subsidiary of Rostec Group of Companies).
In February 2017, the shares of SIA International LTD CJSC of Rudinsky's heirs were bought out by Alexander Vinokurov , a Russian entrepreneur, shareholder of the investment company Marathon Group / Marathon Group [4] .
The net profit of the plant following the results of 2017 amounted to 1 billion 60 million rubles. Compared to 2016, this is one and a half times more. The annual revenue of the company reached 7 billion 260 million rubles (an increase of 7.6%). In total, in 2017, the plant produced about 300 million units. OTC drug sales grew 22%. Export contracts in Kazakhstan were increased, direct deliveries to Uzbekistan appeared. As a result, in 2017, export revenue grew by 6% [5] .
