Volga State College is a Russian educational institution of secondary vocational education . Full name - the state budget professional educational institution of the Samara region "Volga State College" (GBPOU "Freight One") [1] [2] .
The college is the largest educational institution of open vocational education in the Samara region . [3] [4] . According to data for January 2018, 3,799 students were enrolled in college.
The college is training specialists in various areas: mechanical, technological, automotive, artistic, legal, information technology, business and service. The college has six buildings (four of them are educational); training workshops equipped with machine tools of the American company HASS , as well as machines of the German-Japanese company DMG MORI ; two dormitories; three libraries with reading rooms; information Center; psychological support center; Sport halls; youth center, vocal, dance clubs, student theater, student cafe, training companies, professional clubs, medical center, museum.
For practical training and employment of graduates, the college concludes agreements with various enterprises and organizations. The main social partners are organizations in Samara and the Samara region [5] .

History
In difficult times of World War II, the Decree of the Council of People's Commissars of July 7, 1943 in Kuibyshev opened the Industrial College (KIT) to train masters of industrial training in the following specialties:
- Industrial equipment repair
- Cold metal processing
- Repair and maintenance of electrical equipment of enterprises

September 15, 1943 Semen Grigorievich Teus was appointed the first director of the Kuibyshev industrial technical school.
1945-1947 The director of the technical school was Ivan Petrovich Adamchik.
1948-1952 The industrial technical school was headed by Viktor Nikolaevich Nazarov.
1952-1965 The director of the technical school was Vladimir Vasilyevich Khramov.
1965-1988 Director of the Kuibyshev Industrial Pedagogical College was the honored teacher of the RSFSR school Alexander Stepanovich Cherepashkov.
1988-2006 The Samara State Vocational and Pedagogical College was supervised by the doctor of pedagogical sciences, honored teacher of the Russian Federation Evgeny Leonidovich Osorgin.
Since 2006, the director of the college is Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Vladimir Anatolyevich Gusev
