Graphiurus walterverheyeni is a species of rodent of the genus African dormouse of the Sonya family. It was described in 2009. Two individuals — a male and a female — were found at two points in the Congo Basin in the Democratic Republic of the Congo . The structure and color of the coat reminds this species of a thick-tailed dormouse ( Graphiurus crassicaudatus ), however, there are a number of differences between these species. Firstly, the skull of Graphiurus walterverheyeni has a number of features [ what? ] , distinguishing it from the skull of a thick-tailed dormouse . Secondly, individuals of this species are much smaller.
