Biography

Britton began his career at Arsenal at the age of nine.

In 1998, Leon signed a contract with West Ham United . The transfer amount of the 16-year-old player for that time was astronomical - 400 thousand pounds.

Despite the efforts, young Britton will not be able to break into the first part of the London club.

In December 2002, Leon Britton joins Swansea City on loan, helps the club avoid relegation from the Second League of England , and becomes the best player in the 2002/03 season, according to fans. Coach Brian Flynn was impressed by Leon's game and after the lease ended, the club signed the player.

A short, but technical midfielder won the hearts of fans.

On February 9, 2008, Britton played his 200th game for Swansea City.

In January 2010, Leon turned down an offer from Wigan at a cost of £ 750,000. However, at the end of the season, he also refused a new contract offered by Swansea, becoming a free agent.

Despite the interest of some Premier League clubs, Leon Britton signed a contract with Sheffield United in June 2010. The Sheffield United coach put him in the midfield center, but Leon was unable to show the game he demonstrated at Swansea for a season. For five months, Britton played in several positions in midfield, eventually declaring that leaving Swansea was a mistake for him. At the end of the 2010/11 season, Britton left the club.

Leon Britton re-signed the Swans contract through the winter transfer window . The transfer amount was not disclosed.

The debut took place on January 20, 2011 against Barnsley . Britton scored a goal, the match ended in a draw - 1: 1. He scored his second goal in the playoff match for reaching the Premier League against Nottingham Forest . The match ended with a Swansea 3-1 victory.
