House of Boys is a semi-autobiographical film by screenwriter and director Jean-Claude Schliem [1] , a gay tragedy in three acts [2] .

Content
Story
In 1984, eighteen-year-old Frank graduated from high school. Having announced to parents that he is gay , the guy runs away from home and sets off to conquer the glorious city of Amsterdam . There he ends up in a strip club, where he enjoys some success. Frank's life in Amsterdam is an endless celebration with music, rivers of alcohol, passionate dancing and sex. At the club, the guy meets new friends: Angelo, who is saving money for a sex change operation, and dancer Jake, from whom Frank completely loses his head. But Jake has symptoms of a previously unknown disease, which so far is called gay cancer . Guys still don’t know that the ghost of AIDS is already looming over Europe.

Criticism
As of May 2012, the film on the Rotten Tomatoes website has a 57 percent “rotten” rating (calculated based on feedback from seven reviewers) with an average score of 6.4 out of 10 possible. [3]
