Omonia (Athens region)

Omonia ( Greek ΟμΟνοια ) is a district in the center of Athens, Greece, in the center of which is Omonias Square [1] . The area is served by the Omonia station of the Athens Metro green line.
The historical center of the city, it has experienced a serious decline in recent years, increasingly suffering from drug trafficking, prostitution and theft, especially in the western part. Despite this, Omonia still plays the role of the center of Athens' commercial and social life, especially for various immigrant communities.
