Story
In 1939, the St. Louis liner took away 937 German Jews fleeing the Nazi regime from Hamburg to South America. The mood of the ship's passengers, among whom you can find people from a wide variety of classes, varies from hatred of Hitler's politics to an indifferent attitude towards Nazism. The fascist propaganda reports that no country will become a refuge for them come after them. Initially, St. Louis was heading to Havana , but the corrupt Cuban government accepted only two refugees, despite the fact that all passengers received a visa. The liner stopped off the coast of Florida. The US government also banned the ship from mooring.
The captain of the ship Schroeder in every way calms the excitement among passengers and decides to return to Europe. After almost a month's journey, the ship arrives at the port of Antwerp . The final credits tell that about 600 passengers of the ship subsequently died in concentration camps.
