He studied in Krakow and at the Warsaw School of Engineering, since 1812 in Paris with Arago and Dalamber . He built an astronomical observatory on the Ile de France, and then in 1829 in Warsaw, where he was a university professor and director of the observatory.
By a decision of the International Astronomical Union in 1976, a crater on the moon was named in honor of Arminsky.
