Biography
In 1948, the Sychev family moved to the village of Novotavrichesky, Orekhovsky District, Zaporizhzhya Region , where Victor graduated from a village school. Then he worked as an electric gas welder at Zaporizhzhya enterprises and served in the Black Sea Fleet .
In 1970, Sychev graduated from the Zaporizhzhya Engineering Institute with a degree in radio engineering. Since 1967, he worked at the Transformer plant in Zaporozhye as a design engineer and secretary of the Komsomol committee, then he was the head of the department of the Zaporizhzhya city committee of the Komsomol .
From 1974 to 1997 he served in the KGB , and then - in the Security Service of Ukraine . From 1987 to 1994 he was the head of the Melitopol department of the KGB (SBU). He has the military rank of reserve colonel .
From March 1990 to May 1994, Sychev was a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the first convocation , where he was a member of the Foreign Affairs Commission.
In 1998, he was elected mayor of Melitopol , and held this post from October 1998 to July 2002 [1] .
In 2006, the son of Victor Sychev Dmitry was elected the mayor of Melitopol. And on April 3, 2006, on the day on which the first session of the newly elected City Council was planned, Viktor Sychev died. [2]
