Hanavave ( fr. Hana Vave ) is a small village, bay and valley in the north-west of Fatu Khiva . The population is 337 inhabitants. Hanawave is the largest village on the island, ahead of the administrative center of Omoa .

The first French name for the bay was Baie des Verges - “Penis Bay”, which it received the name for the phaloid-shaped basalt rock towering above the bay.
