Malaysian Stock Exchange (Bursa Malaysia, KLSE) is Malaysia's leading stock exchange . It trades in stocks , bonds , futures , options , currency . It was formed in 1964 and was originally called the Stock Exchange of Malaysia. After the separation of Singapore from Malaysia in 1965, it became known as the Stock Exchange of Malaysia and Singapore. In 1973, the exchange was divided into the Singapore Stock Exchange and the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSEB). In 2004 it was incorporated and soon renamed to Bursa Malaysia. More than half of the shares are owned by the state.
