History
January 1, 1934 in the documents of the city archive appears the knitwear factory of the Oryol Industrial Complex. This year is officially considered the year of foundation of one of the first enterprises in the production of hosiery.
In the order of the People’s Commissariat of Light Industry of the RSFSR No. 30 of April 28, 1939 A plan for the organization of a spinning and stocking factory in Orel is described, according to which 6900 spinning and 1800 spinning spindles are required to be installed in the buildings, and production capacity is determined at 5.6 million pairs of hosiery products per year.
In 1940 , new equipment was installed at the factory - winding machines, overlocks , centrifuges , a dyeing apparatus, and steam irons. The construction of a new building began, a dormitory for factory workers and a kindergarten were commissioned. The implementation of the plans prevented the Great Patriotic War .
War years
Instead of the men who went to the front, the machine tools got up women and children; they had to work around the clock. In October 1941 , the Nazi forces occupied Oryol, almost all the equipment of the factory was taken by the Germans to Germany , and the production buildings were destroyed.
After the liberation, the construction of the new Eagle began. During the day, people worked in production, in the evening they rebuilt the streets. The factory in the post-war years worked around the clock. On February 1, 1944 , about a hundred people worked in the factory, mainly women and adolescents. Gradually, the former workers returned to the enterprise, new equipment arrived. So, according to the results of 1944 , the factory plan for some items was exceeded by an average of 300%.
Production and Personnel Modernization
In the 50s , a diesel power station was commissioned, reconstruction of a new building, boiler room, warehouse began, an experimental laboratory and a design department were created.
In the 60s and 70s , the factory management was faced with the task of training and retraining personnel, and a branch of the Ivanteev knitting technical school was opened at the enterprise; since 1972 , a branch of the Rusanov technical school, where over 250 people were trained every year, was opened.
In 1989 , the factory modernized production - the production of women's elastic stockings was launched, knitting machines for the production of children's tights were mastered.
In the late 1980s , perestroika began in the country. Difficulties in the economy develop into a full-blown state crisis. The shortage of goods contributed to the powerful import of cheap overseas products. Many enterprises in the industry could not stand the competition and stopped production. After the privatization of 1992 , the factory became known as Gamma OJSC. Alexander Ivanovich Gaponov was elected Director General.
Enterprise Awards
Technological re-equipment of production and the use of new types of raw materials made it possible to produce products with improved consumer characteristics. The annual diplomas in the competition "100 Best Products of Russia" [1] only confirms the correctness of the chosen strategy. In 2003 , Gamma OJSC received an international certificate of conformity for the quality management system (IQNet), in 2008 the factory successfully passed recertification (IQNet) of the ISO 9001: 2008 standard [2] .
The Russian analytical magazine “Underwear and Tights” noted Gamma OJSC as one of the few companies in the domestic market that comply with all the details of the full technological cycle in production according to GOST , securing the factory with the title of “state enterprise”, which is the key to quality for the consumer. [3]
Factory Today
The global financial crisis of 2008-2011. provoked a decrease in production volumes, a drop in consumer demand, an increase in unemployment, which affected the work of the industry. However, the factory managed to survive the crisis, as evidenced by the words of the Governor of the Oryol region, Alexander Kozlov, who visited the production of Gamma OJSC in 2009 . The governor noted the stable operation of the factory, despite the difficult economic times in the country [4]
Rising prices for raw materials and industrial equipment, due to the currency crisis of 2014-2015, had an extremely negative impact on the Russian light industry. However, in modern conditions of import substitution, new opportunities for Russian enterprises are opening up for growth and development.
