History
On October 25, 1913, Pope Pius X issued the bull Consistoriali decreto , which established the Diocese of Lille, distinguishing it from the Archbishopric of Cambrai. On the same day, the diocese of Lille entered the metropolis of Cambrai.
On March 30, 2008, Pope Benedict XVI issued the bull In Gallia , which raised the rank of archdiocese to the diocese of Lille.
