Content
Biography
Born in 1921 in the village of Biyavash (now - Oktyabrsky District of the Perm Territory) in a peasant family. Russian .
He lived and worked in the city of Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg ). Before the war was a member of the Komsomol .
In the Red Army since 1941 . In the battles of World War II since 1942 .
The commander of the 130th Guards Rifle Regiment, candidate member of the CPSU , Guards Sergeant Vladimir Vasilyev was part of a group of 13 people headed by the company commander who, on January 15, 1943 , broke into the outskirts of the heavily fortified railway village Donskoy (now Krasnovka, Tarasovsky district of Rostov region), captured 3 houses. The fighters repelled numerous enemy attacks and continued to fire even when the Nazis set fire to the houses. In this battle, he died.
He was buried in a mass grave at the station Krasnovka .
Awards
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated March 31, 1943, for the exemplary performance of combat missions of command on the front of the struggle against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown to Vladimir Aleksandrovich Vasilyev, the title Hero of the Soviet Union was posthumously awarded.

Memory
- At the platform of the Krasnovka station there is a monument to 13 Heroes.
- In Moscow, in the Central Museum of the Armed Forces , the stand “Thirteen Heroes of Krasnovka” was equipped [1] .
- A memorial plaque is installed on the school building in the native village of Hero.
